Same quality as 2 years ago, food taste better than most restaurants in the city, affordable price when on specials, our kids love the playground area. We went to an upmarket riverside restaurant last week, the food cost $40 - $50 per dish, spent over $200 for lunch with the in laws. Scenery was superb but the wagyu steak was just ok. Tonight I took one of the in law to CT, they had $10 off per main meal, we had 400g t-bone, 1/2 kg ribs, chicken parmigiana, total for $50! I couldn't believe my ears when the girl told me the 3 main meals cost $50, that I asked her to check the computer again :P. The medium T-bone was like cotton in my mouth, taste and texture were much better than the wagyu we had last week. The rest of the meals were also great tasting. My in law scolded me for paying too much last week and why I never take her here before. Our two toddlers who were usually fussy eaters devoured our meals too. The food is expensive unless you take advantage of the discount days... 'Reef Beef Night' on Mondays is $15.90 a head (200g piece of beef with some prawns), 'Prime Angus Night' on Tue is $20 a head (300g piece of beef with salad & chips). You can find better.

The Centenary Tavern caters nicely for the urban crowd, with keno screens everywhere you look, junky food disguised under fancy descriptions, and a pokie room.

It does have a nice play area, but you can't see it from inside, and there is nowhere to sit a cold beer while you watch the kids. You can expect a quarrel with your better half over who gets to stand there watching .

There's a minuscule games room for kids which houses a chocolate crane game that can be rewarding. Giving it a good nudge rewards the nudger with some chocolately treats, free of charge.

The perfect place to take your favourite freshly-arrived foreign friends for some proper Aussie culture.
