I had two unexpected deaths in my family within a year that I needed to pay for. The funeral director I used for both services provided an easy finance option with Certegy Ezi-Pay to pay off the funeral.
Certegy Ezi-Pay is interest free and they just take out each payment fortnightly out of my account.
Every time I have made contact with the company they have been very friendly and helpful.
The only thing you need to know if you are going to use them is to contact the company once you have paid it off as they will continue to debit fees out of your account until you provide notice to cancel.
So I have had an 'active' open line of credit account with Certegy Ezi-pay. This account was originally set-up with a purchase in 2012 to the value of $3999 which has been full paid in July 2014. Since finalising that purchase I've kept my account 'active' and agreed to pay the $2.90/month 'active' account keeping fee. The Certegy Ezi-Pay iPhone App shows me that I have $2999 available credit (as I paid $1000 deposit on the last purchase so only needed $2999 credit) and my account is 'active'.
Thinking I had this line of credit, I went to a (fabulous) bedding store in SA yesterday to make a purchase on this account. To my SHOCK, on calling Certigy Ezi-Pay to set-up my new purchase, the salesman advised that he was being told I 'did not have an active account' and would need to practically apply again to use ...read more
Be warned. Once the item was paid off, Certegy continued to debit a monthly "account keeping fee" which I did not notice for over a year. Apparently it stipulates that even after you pay off your item, you will pay Certegy a fee every month for the rest of your life until you send them written notice that you wish to close your "account". Customer service is dreadful. Thanks to the rude reception my query received, I am pursuing this through Consumer Affairs, and my bank is disputing the charges. If you decide to use Certegy, set an alarm in your calendar for the date on which your item will be paid off (divide the purchase price by the monthly repayment amount) so you can write them that same day to definitely close your "account".
Highly recommended - Certegy Ezi-Pay is such a convenient finance option quick, easy and no interest throughout the term of your contract. Ive made numerous purchases through Certegy Ezi-Pay and have never had any hassles. Payments were direct debited fortnightly from my account on the date I initially selected. If you dont want to incur additional fees ensure there are funds in your account when they direct debit. If the instalments dont coincide with your pay contact them, theyll change it for you over the phone. Want to close your account do it yourself, they set up an online account for you where there is an option to close your account.
