Terrible steak and service. Overpriced. Don't take your jacket off, you might hit somebody in the head. Tables so close together that you find yourself fighting to talk over the tables around you. Hope you like jacket potatoes because that's all that comes with a meal (request in vain). Be prepared to pay exorbitant prices for sides and sauces. Never again
Very good service, but unfortunately that's where the story ends.
The steaks are way over priced, and to be honest they were pretty tough not to mention the the sauces/gravy's which were bland.
Jacket potato was the only option with all the steaks and apparently you need to pre-order mash of thats what you desire.
The space is very cramped and outdated. Even taking your jacket off is a task for a yoga instructor if you want to avoid the people seated around you.
Unfortunately I won't be returning, however the staff should be commended for keeping constant smiles on their faces given the feedback they undoubtedly receive each night.
Went for my girlfriends birthday and we had our byo bottle of wine taken away. Then when we ordered our steak we asked if we could substitute the jacket potatoes (that came with all steaks) for a side serve of salad or chips, and were told we would have to pay full price. This is a 250gm fillet at $43 with ZERO sides. We ordered a garlic bread and got a 4cm slice of garlic bread cut in two for $9. After all that both our meals were very ordinary- most pubs will do you a better steak at $12 and save you the cramped atmosphere and rude service Worst dining experience ever
The prices that they expect for their meat is far too high. I'm aware of teh markup that they need for a viable business, but they then need to ensure the quality is as high. The meat I had wasn't that tender, and edged with grissle.
The flavours were okay, but I expected more than just okay.
Maybe a year ago this restaurant was good but after last nights experience, I felt like I have been robbed!!!! I wanted to impress some of my guests for my birthday in an up market restaurant in Canberra but what I got from it was far less! It was very small and cramped! Very dark and old decor almost like they didn't not have enough money to renovate the place!
We got there at 6.30pm for my birthday and didn't get served our drinks in fact we needed to get the waiters attention to get drinks 35minutes later!!!. One of my guests actually walked over to the counter and picked up the additional menus for the rest that arrived 10 minutes after we did. This was ridiculous!!!! ...read more
