Chargrill Charlie's

Do you really know Wahroonga if you don't know Chookas? This is an amazing place for takeout for both the schoolkids down the road or families living around the area. The fries and wedges are to die for - some of the best in Sydney and I always appreciate the self serve sauces. The salads are also quite nice - we're not kidding ourselves that they're the healthiest or the freshest for a chicken shop. But they're still delicious. Great for a cheat meal.

This has to be one of the best take away shops around. Its great for when you want 'real food' fast. Everything on the menu is great quality and the free range chicken is much appreciated.

If for no other reason, I just love the name Chargrill Charlies... Bbq chicken shops are often associated with greasy chips and gravy and grabbing a chook on the way home for a quick meal, but not so Chargrill Charlies. They're roasted vegetable salad is the best as well as their array of fresh salads with a twist. The vietnamese vermicelli chicken salad is hard to beat. This place is always bustling and the options are endless. It's the perfect spot to grab a picnic lunch and sit in the nearby Wahroonga park too.

A friend introduced me to this shop one Sunday lunch. Since then I've regarded it as possibly one of the best chicken shops around. Their chicken rolls are phenomenal, especially with their sauces. They also have a large range of chicken salads. Unfortunately, they only have space for limited seating and it can get busy... The food is worth it though.
