Chat Thai
20 Campbell St
Sydney, NSW, 2000
Chat Thai is super busy. You put your name on a number system out the front and about 30 minutes later you get a table. I was a bit annoyed because other groups of people seemed to be getting in, despite the fact the venue doesn’t take bookings and their names weren’t on the sheet (friends?). Anyway they were kind enough to take our order as a pre-order so it would be ready when we got the table. Pretty much as soon as we sat down, the food arrived. It all kind of came at different times. The food is amazing though - we especially liked the pad thai, pineapple fried rice, prawn and tamarind soup.
My least favourite Chat Thai location as they are not really one for customer service or care if you're actually enjoying your meal.
I only went here once, endured a long wait for a table and was given a meal which was so extremely packed which chilies that I could not even taste the dish. I probably should add, I'm usually the kind of person who asks for more chilies normally, but this was just something else. It wasn't edible. When noting this to the waiter, it was shrugged off and nothing else was said.
I ended up actually ordering the same dish at any other Chat Thai and it was no where as hot and was actually very enjoyable.
Will pass. Forever.
