I have been visiting this store for a over a decade and have always been impressed by the quality of service. They seem to have changed their security policy recently though. They are now insisting on checking even handbags! I refused - happy to show a shopping bag but not a handbag, especially when I have been shopping there for years, and they had no reason to believe I had stolen anything. They said I could not return to the store! Really upset by this. It's not a way to treat a regular, local customer.
I rather busy pharmacy based in Footscray. In the past there was entry both front and back, however they have now closed off the back exit and allowed entry/exit only at the main entrance on Barkly Street. The staff here are friendly and helpful, plenty of Vietnamese speaking pharmacist and staff I believe given to the demographic in this area. It’s hard not to enter one of the Chemist Warehouse store and walk out without purchasing anything, as there are discounts signs almost on all items. I came in initially for some cold & flu tablets however ended up walking out with a number of other items on impulse purchase.
With all the competing pharmacies in Footscray, it's hard to decide on which to choose from. This one is a bit further away from central Footscray, but I do like to go here as I find the pricing cheaper than the rest. I guess it's due to them being a large franchise and bulk buying their products. I don't however feel they have the personal touch as other smaller pharmacies. And I feel they definitely lack the professionalism too. If I know what I'm after then I go here, otherwise I'd be going to the smaller pharmacies as they seem to known their products better and provide better guidance.
