this is one of my favorite cafes, the staff are lovely and welcoming and their coffee is great :)

Chimmy's Use to be one of my favorite cafe's in Melbourne. They have a good range of food, some of being quite unique (Especially for breakfast). They bake their own (well local anyway) breads/sweets. Their coffee can be really great. Lately the staff just can't cut it. Too many new employees perhaps. The last three coffee's I have had have all been terrible. It took them 10 minutes to warm up a panini (pre-made) and then it was still stone cold egg in the middle. This place has fallen apart.

Excellent Excellent Excellent. Chimmys is all about quality and the decor and atmosphere are very much in line with South Melbournes intellectual elites.



The food is scrumptious. Egg and Bacon foccaccias $9 are value for money, as are all their sandwhiches. $5 pies, while slightly pricey are wonderful and their cakes, again slight pricey at $6-$7 are of the highest quality. Flourless orange cake, chocolate and berry tarts, jam and custard doughnuts at $2 are all very very good.



The menu is however limited, and if you go passed 1pm you will find mostly everything gone.



Very good for a quick rustic lunch and even better for breakfast.

THE place for bread in South Melbourne. Good coffee with a somewhat limited menu hides some great dishes. Go for the soup with fresh bread in winter. And try a cake or sweet pastry afterwards.
