Ching-A-Lings
Hidden up some nondescript stairs on busy Oxford Street, Ching-a-lings serves beer in bottles and long necks and mixed drinks and wine and has a great outdoor area located at the rear.
A breath of fresh air on the Oxford Street strip and definitely a lot more low-key. The outside area shuts before midnight where everyone moves inside and some start to boogie to the laid back, cool sounds.

I'm a fan of Ching-a-lings. Now, bar-judge scale relies on a few key things.
First thing is ALCOHOL (obviously...). Are there options? Do the staff know what they're doing? Is it cheap?
Ching-a-lings have this down. Drinks are always mixed well. Artful if it's a cocktail, quick and dirty if it's a standard spirit-chaser. I think they must have purposely chosen not to put a sign up for this bar. If you want to find it, it's about 4 doors further up the hill from the Columbian on Oxford Street, between the tobacco shop and a cake shop. The sign on the door says it's a solarium and the licensee information is written above the door in marker pen.
