Chinois Restaurant

Not keen to go back there again, actually, I'm certain that I won't be going back there again. I travelled a long way (over 45mins) to go there and we had to drive around for ages looking for a park. We wound up parking in front of the Art Gallery & walked the distance in the rain but it certainly wasn't worth the drive or the walk. As far as Chinese restaurants go, it was really disappointing.

Have just finished another awesome dinner, have been coming here for years, great food, & great service.

A truly terrible experience. We booked ahead as requested but this made no difference to the crappy service and food we were served. We were told it was busy and they couldn't help it, as if we weren't important obviously other customers were more important. Two members of the wait staff seemed to just stay at the bar drying glasses while the others raced around trying to get to everyone. When our food finally came it was disappointing. Soggy meat drenched in far too much sauce, it was almost dripping onto the table. Other dishes were flavourless.
The one girl who looked after us was charismatic and helpful the rest of the staff made for unpleasant atmosphere-clearly they didn't want to be there and neither did we. Will not go back.

Have been to the Chinois for at least 14 years. We usually go in a group of 12 to 14 & have the banquet. We can never fault the service & food. We have recommended the Chinois to many friends & they always come back & thank us for recommending this restaurant.

Each time I have gone the food has been tasty and although the customer service can be slow, it's generally a good place for food.
