I have recently had a bowel cancer screening test from the government that turned up positive. I was referred to Dr Chong for a colonoscopy. I was very worried as I do not like the idea of someone sticking something up my you-know-where. I found Dr Chong very reassuring and caring. His anaesthetist and nurses were excellent as well. I found out that I had 2 precancerous polyps removed and as a bonus had my piles treated at the same time.
Very happy to come back for my follow up procedure when the time comes.
I have been seeing several specialists for my several episodes of pancreatitis for more than a year, but with no useful outcome. Been coming in and out of hospitals after lots of investigations and given pain killers only. Just seen Dr Chong recently in his clinic. Was very professional, caring and careful in looking through all my previous tests.
Was told that I was born with a variation in my pancreatic ducts. I was initially very worried about the possible severe complications related to treatment. Have had two ERCPs done since with stones removed from my pancreatic duct and stent to drain my inflammatory cyst.
Staff were fantastic and I've had no recurrent symptoms since. Hooray !!
Can't recommend him and his team highly enough.
I came back to Oz after living many years overseas and needed a specialist. On my first visit, just as I step into his room, I greeted him but all I got was a "go sit over that chair" in a nasty, harsh tone. No hello or any greeting in reply. And more... not knowing what the health system currently is, I asked a few basic questions. He was rather agitated and snapped at me in harsh and sharp tone of voice in his replies. After I left the clinic, I couldn't help feeling low and demeaned. My dignity went out the window! What a rude and arrogant man! How can ever I trust him to look after me with the illness! I will never go back to him and will definitely advise all my family members and friends against going to him for consult/treatment.
Dear Kowan,
Dr Chong and his team make it a priority to be respectful, polite and courteous to all patients, whilst giving then the best advice and care for their problems.
Dr Chong is committed to proving state of the art and excellent care to all his patients.
We do not have any recent patient who fits your description, and hence cannot contact you directly.
The alleged way you were greeted is not also not how Dr Chong addresses patients.
Please feel free to contact our clinic directly, and Dr Chong will be happy to address any specific issues that you had.
Best regards,
Dr Andre Chong's Team
This review is wholly meant to be a caveat. I don't seek to correct or admonish anyone. You can't recall the incident?.... think really back and hard. To me, a thing like this.... hard to forget. BTW your reply (vis-a-vis the first part)... as they say in the military.... nice forward defence. Call you back?.... redundant! Thanks for the journey! .. Kowan
