I have been a Citibank client for over 25 years, and a platinum card holder for many of them. I recently tried to 'cash in' my reward points (over 310,000 points) and was told they were valued at $1275.00, but when I received the emails confirming my transaction, I was $500 short of what I was promised would be credited. It has been over two weeks since that inital transaction and I have spoken with almost 10 Citibank staff, several in their overseas call centres, two in the Australia office. Only the man in the Australian office appears willing to address my complaint which are now two: one about the rewards amount owing me; two aboout my complaintregarding the quality of the call centre staff located offshore. To date none is willing to honour my rewards entitlement, although I was told that I could get a $250 ex gratia payment for their 'mistake' and a credit for my next annual fee of $199 in addition to the $775 they told me I was owed and then maybe ...read more

Big pros and big cons. The staff at this centre were friendly but clearly restricted by the company's "new direction" and not willing/able to be at all flexible or personal in their service. For simple matters you can handle online or via the ever detested call centre, it's a good international bank with some great deals, but if you want personalised assistance for dealing with any issues or your finances in general, I suspect most would be disappointed.

Very bad experience with CITIBank, the bank is so unprofessional bank, I applied for a credit card and they start calling everyone I put their name in my application without my permisson for a very small amount Credit Card, that was a shame and then at the end they even didn't approve that amount! I just cancel it, never deal with them again!

In reading the reviews below, it seems that my recent experience with Citibank is totally different. I recently signed up with them as wanted a card in which I could access my funds from abroad without attracting a transaction fees like most other major cards when using overseas. Provided I selected credit at the ATM machine, utilised Citibanks ATM which are almost everywhere or easily located through their website or alternatively I could access any ATM with a VISA symbol, however would attract a small fee based on the bank provider. This was all clearly explained to me when I was sourcing the information over the phone. True to their words, I have not had any problems with Citibank since. Whilst overseas, I had a duplicate transaction charged by a merchant in contacting them, they were very professional about the issue and given the limited access to print/scan the documents required they had allowed me to take a photo and send directly by email to the ...read more

I have US$ account in CITI bank over 10 years. I deposited a foreign cheque of US5000 (copy attached). When I was depositing the cheque I was told there will be a charge of $30. When I received the statement for March 2014, thus a deduction of US50.54 instead of $30.

I called city bank branch on several occasions and I found them to always engaged. I have left several messages but I have not received a return call. I emailed Citibank Online Customer Service Centre and the response was of no help and most likely they are somewhere overseas only to send the set message.

I wrote my complain to the Management, Citibank, 2 Park Street, Sydney NSW 2000 on 12th May posted in express post and so far no response. The banks customer service is very poor.
