Jays Motors was established in 1940. Located in Victoria Street Richmond by John Pascoe Seniors father , known as Jay Pascoe. He was also one of the original directors and share holder of Calder Race Way.
John Snr sold the business in 1997 to the Sumitomo Corporation but retained City Automobiles for his sons John Junior and Benjamin.
In 2001 City Automobiles was officially appointed the Renault Franchise for Melbourne, opening the new car showroom at 539 Church Street Richmond on 14 July 2001 timed to coincide with Bastille Day. City Automobiles Renault quickly became the No.1 selling Renault Dealer in Australia.
