Ian McKiernan - you are a gem. However it is a pity there are those folk out there on the highways (certainly between Canberra and Sydney) not listening. Sometimes I cry at the rubbish obviously thrown out of cars. When will they learn to keep it and trash it properly when they get home?
Clean up Australia is a charity that is important to both Australia and the world. The next Clean up Australia Day event will be held on 1st March 2009, and I would encourage all Australians to take part. The reason is simple. For too long Australians have been complacent about the amount of rubbish 'they' use. Recycling is now apart of everyday life, but there are still those people who ignore recycling. The Clean up Australia campaign aims to show how easy it is to join together as a community, and focus on improving our country both locally and nation-wide. Clean up Australia has a volunteer program which you can join online and there is also a donations link that instead of sending a gift to a loved one, wrapped in paper you can give a green gift, which is a donation to the Clean Up Australia campaign. Now is the time for all of us to logon to the website, and start picking up after ourselves. Stay Green.
