I just must say good to always dine here. Feels like I'm here at least once a month. Last time was with my family so we ordered a banquet and i very much enjoyed the tangy sour fish soup. Never disappointed and with the new renovation, Co Do is really doing well. The new side has really nice booths at the back and the toilets are super clean. There seemed to also be a open garden area at the back so i can see in warmer weathers people sitting out there dining. Im glad Co Do extended as it was really busy and always full. Always cant wait to be back.
Here again in less than 2 weeks, starting to appear like my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Sunshine. I came here on this occasion to specifically eat ‘ Bun Mam’ and thought I’ll share my input into it given I’ve eaten this dish a few times at Co Do. Bun Mam firstly is fermented thick Vietnamese vermicelli soup filled with pork, seafood like prawns, squid & fish. Doesn’t sound appealing, it does have an acquired taste however once you’ve tried this, like myself I kept coming back for more. I dragged my brother along also on this trip to have him try it for the first time and true to my words, he absolutely loved it also. So here’s a new dish for those who enjoy trying something new and also enjoy the variety of Vietnamese cuisine. Service prompt and efficient as always here!
We just had a family dinner here last night with 6 of us. They’ve recently had an extension to the store, expanding into the next shop. The place looks fantastic, with booth seats, nice outdoor setting at the back and clean toilet facility. The only thing lacking from the extension would be a baby change area, as lots of small children and babies have dined here with their parents, unfortunately they didn’t cater for this. On this occasion we ordered a banquet for 6, food was ok just didn’t seem like the serving was to cater for 6 rather 4 as the food finish pretty quick in which most of us were considering ordering more dishes. Food also came out slow compared to last time. All in all, great atmosphere here, just little disappointed with service and food quantity.
I was at their Richmond location just recently and found it somewhat disappointing. Its been almost a year since I was here last at the Sunshine restaurant until today. I ordered Bun Mam which is a soup based broth with thick white noodles, mix of seafood and meat in a specialized broth that has quite an acquired taste and smell. Ive had this here before and it was quite good, so thought why not give it another go. Ordered the medium size and exactly what I had hoped, it was prepared exactly the way I would have liked it. We also ordered an additional dish, which is rice deep fried with shredded pork and onions sprinkle on top, it took some time for this to come out, almost when I had finished the soup as there is some time to have the rice deep fried. It was the first time I tried it and absolutely loved it. Service was fast & efficient like always.
