Hiring a 4WD from Coastal 4wd Hire and driving around Fraser Island was the high point of our 2-week holiday throughout Austalia. I can't express how exceptional this company is! By that time, we had become accustomed to vendors either not answering the phone or telling us they were all booked out (and why didn't you think to schedule your koala petting session six months in advance like the Asians do?) Then I called Coastal 4wd Hire. They agreed to not only rent the 4WD that day, but to even bring it to the airport for our arrival in 3 hours (for a small additional charge)! Tony showed us a better route to the island than we had planned, cutting hours off our trip. We made it to the ferry in time to get to the island, all in the same day we had flown into Brisbane! I can't express how exceptional this company is. We simply didn't have time for the time-consuming ways most people get to the island. And with Coastal 4wd Hire, we saved money!
Although there was no advertised physical address, I still decided to ring and get a quote. I am glad I made that phone call as I am not an experienced four wheel driver and Tony put my mind at rest assuring me that his training was extensive before we were to head off in the vehicle for the weekend. He spent a lot of time with us showing us video's of the do's and dont's which made us feel confident about heading off in the Nissan Patrol to Morton for the weekend.
I would recommend these guys to anyone who wants value for money and no hidden costs. He pointed out all our obligations both in regards to the vehicle and small print in the insurance which to me shows he is transparent in what he is offering, a real professional which you don't get from the bigger companies anymore. The car appeared to be brand new and we had no problems on the island unlike a lot of bogged vehicles we passed while we went via the inland tracks.
