Today my wife was involved in a traumatic car accident. We rang RACV and Code 12 towing attended the scene. We were not explained any pricing. We were told the insurance company “may” pay for the towing only if we bring to their Depo. Or deliver to our premises and incur a straight up fee, of which were told most likely would not be covered by insurance. We felt pressured into choosing the depo, even after I Insisted we return the car to our own premises 5km away. However we were stuck with damaged car. We had the car delivered to depo. The cost was $353 for a 12km distance of travel from crash scene to their depo. And $110 if we chose to get it delivered home 5km away. Me and my wife are struggling financially and with no immediate compensation we chose to use a trailer.
