I have walked past this place a couple of times and I wasn't sure whether it was a coffee shop, or a distributor, since it is located in an old warehouse (though the little marking on Google Maps suggests that it is actually a coffee shop). So when I had some time to kill one Saturday morning I decided to go and check it out and I must admit it was packed to the brim. This place definitely seems to be really popular with the locals. Okay, I'm not sure if they distribute coffee, but they are certainly a coffee shop, and the coffee wasn't bad either (though I'm not one who can tell a good coffee from a bad coffee). Mind you it's not just a coffee shop as they also do breakfast, and you can buy bags of coffee here as well. Pretty decent place that I'm going to have to check out again sometime.
Code Black Coffee Roasters is set in a really hip warehouse converted cafe in Brunswick just off Sydney Road. I expected great coffee because I heard they take it very seriously and roast their own. The long black was fantastic and my friend'sskinny cap also was very good. Food was also very impressive, the Ploughman's breakfast board is middle eastern inspired and all the parts were very fresh. The fritters are a must try and the chorizo was a great accompaniment.
Service was really good and our waiter had a great sense of humour which made our dining experience all the more enjoyable.
