Cold Rock Ice Creamery

I'll admit I've never really understood Cold Rock - it's so expensive and incredibly bland. My daughter asked to go so I gave it another try and found it even worse than I'd remembered. Still so expensive ($14 for two small cups with 1 lolly added to one of them). Still bland and unappealing - we threw out much more than we ate. Also, i can help but wonder - is it even hygienic to smoosh food over a surface being re-used constantly? Lastly, the fed up and employee and .20c eftpos (debit) surcharge was the icing. No surprises, we won't be back.

We were impressed as we NEVER buy ice cream. The staff obviously love their job and were only too happy to please!

I love ColdRock icecream. The one in Helensvale is easy to access and has lots of parking (it's a part of the Westfield Helensvale complex). If you want your icecream well mixed I don't recommend that you go there during busy times. The staff get visibly tired and worn out and start doing a substandard job.

Cold Rock is always good if you like to have some icecream custom made to your own tastes. I do find at Helensvale that they often put so much icecream in, I can't finish it and don't get the benefit of the added flavours - so just ask for less icecream. Watch for vouchers in local publications (2 for 1).
