Coles Express

I agree with the previous reviewer, in particular the fruit and vegetable selection has always been quite poor, but I notice this was written a while ago and it has got much better in recent years. They have alot of 'asian vegetables' - pak choy, bok choy etc and they are usually quite fresh. One big positive about this store is the staff are very polite always and they are always helpful and friendly. I have a couple of negatives about this store though and some of them are quite big...

(1) The biggest problem.. There is a huge amount of smoking in the entrance to the shopping centre and due to a wind tunnel, this blows into the store, so any fruit and vegetables on display are coated with a fine glaze of cigarette some ... pretty disgusting ...read more

For what it is, its OK. But parking is terrible, check out queues are terrible, and the fruit and vege section is not particulary good quality or cheap. They do have a good range and most shelf items seems well priced, with lots of specials on items that you would want to buy. However they seem to be replacing a lot of brand names with the 'you'll love coles' brand which is reducing the choice that used to exist here. And in the cold foods you need to be pretty vigilant in checking use by dates.

I know these are issues in many supermarkets. I just find it a shame that it wouldn't take much effort to fix us some of these issues. Its not enough to stop me shopping here, but is enough to annoy me whenever I do.
