May be a good handyman but no carpenter. Don't let them near anything that needs to be level, square or safe or you may end up like us, having to get someone else to fix it. Their first attempt was so bad we wanted them to leave the job - (eg wrong size treads, post fitted at odd angle, rails not straight, steps not level) but they were so sure they could do it again properly and wanted another chance, that we let them. This time the treads were cut too short and rest barely 1mm in the stringer on one side. The bottom step is uneven and not secured to the concrete stumps, the ties between the stringers badly and unsafely placed. The rails and balustrading are not straight and there is a 10mm gap between the post and the rails. These are just the main things which present safety issues. Apart from that, it looks a mess. Can provide pictures if required. Writing this review to hopefully save someone else the stress (and cost) we have just been through.
the stairs in question were built dead square to start with, and when they were placed on the house, they were 75-80 mil off the ground at one point, so they were taken apart and made to fit as square as possible, as the house is far from square.And the stair treads were replaced without question.
Last but not least it does say in my add that I am a carpet specialist, and they seemed happy by the time I'd left the job
