Visited during the week to avoid the weekend crowds. It's quite a delight in such a city location and has a lot of charm. Entry cost is very reasonable but you do need to factor in the parking cost, which isn't too bad depending how long you stay. Our visit in mid-September meant that we got to see kids (baby goats that is!) and lambs bounding around like playful puppies. There were also pigs, chickens, ducks, a pony & donkey, guinea pigs that you get to hold, cats & peacocks. The gardens are also quite lovely and there is plenty of room to have a picnic or there is also the option of a cafe. The cafe does an excellent iced coffee and a super salad that was very generous and filling (quinoa, carrot, beetroot, avocado, pepitas, cashew hommous).

Great inner city place to visit to bring young children as you'd rarely be able to give children the opportunity to come across and interact so closely with farm animals in Melbourne. At first when I took my niece there I thought that there were only chickens as the chicken enclosure was the first place we saw but as we explored further the farm expanded and we got to see and even pet and feed the goats and other animals. The animals are well trained or at least acquainted with the visitors and my niece had a great time running around and even chasing the geese. The entry was decent and was only $9 for adults and $5 for children. You can get a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children for $18). I will definitely be back here in the future.

A primary school excursion to the farm was very informative, educational and fun. Fully hands on, the young children loved it. A memorable trip, lots of learning done and reinforcing their love towards the animals and environment, gaining a deeper understanding about the food journey.

Lovely place but most insensitive staff I've ever come across. I have four years old autistic son who has been pulled and pushed by staff. Staff lack of basic understanding and compassion towards my sons' disability is beyond words. Even the passers by commented on this. My son is not spoiled. He has disability and he loves animals. Talking loudly, fast, over his head, pulling and pushing him by arms and shoulders will not help, as some of you had chance to learn. He is a lovely little boy and deserves the same respect as anyone else. For more information on autism, visit Autism Victoria Amaze. I hope some of you may take note of this and implement appropriate staff training. I don't want to go to extend of recording my concerns and formalising complaints. I just like us to enjoy the beautiful place Collingwood farm is.
