Cannot seemyself patronising this establishement in the future....
Have just bought potato scallops and chips. Never again. Asked for fresh scallops and was informed that the scallops in the tray were "just out of the oil 30 seconds ago..." Asked for chicken salt but didnt ask for a 1 cm crust of salt...
Watched other staff member make a hambugher - picked up salad items with his fingers to make the burgher.... Seems never to have heard about tongs.
Many nicer places elsewhere...
Well not sure what the food is like because I did not get a chance to get any. Ordered a chicken and large chips over the phone, all good so far despite the fact that the person who answered was not sure if they had any ??? Anyway a shout from someone in the background sorted this, yes we have some chickens. OK away I go to pick up my order, standing in the shop waiting for the chips to cook and the staff behind the counter cuts the one and only chicken they have left in half. Maybe staff mis-heard me I am thinking, no - sorry that person says just remembered this is sold, only have 1/2 left, do you want it? Love this place. It's got a traditional chip shop feel and the food is fantastic. The pizzas are great and very good value but it's the food out of the deep fryer that really sets it apart. The chips are amazing and I always eat more battered savs than a man should because I just can't get enough of the taste. The staff are always fantastic and if they aren't busy don't mind a chat either.
Been going every few weeks for the last few years and they've had maybe 2 or 3 off nights in that time where the food hasn't been its usual standard, but it's very rare. If you're not worried about the wasteline then I highly recommend this place.
I love the classic NRL magazines sitting in the corner waiting to be read.
The charcoal chickens are great, and the hamburgers and chips are as good as you'll get from a store like this.
Unfortunately the pizza I ordered was very soggy, and slices simply could not be picked up without a spatula.
They may have been having an off day, but I won't be trying the pizza again in a hurry.
