Cookies Lounge Bar

So we went here for a work colleagues farewell lunch.

We sat down at the back of the restaurant, right outside the kitchen and noticed the menu's stated that we can't have anything off the grill. Due to excessive heat their motors had blown. Ok we say, can't be that bad right? We just can't have anything that needs to be grilled. Which was pretty much nearly everything on the menu.

So we got wraps etc and the chips are totally divine. However seating us in front of kitchen, with no air con on a 44 degree day was pretty horrible. The heat from the kitchen including the head from the restaurant got a bit much at one point. Especially when the doors to the parking garage were opened as if there was air coming in from there!!!

No sorry love, there's only carbon monoxide coming from there. Sure it's ok, who needs oxygen anyway!

But the service was ok, food was nice too... just a pity about the whole no air or grill business.

I spend a lot of time at cookies... Tuesday Trivia is fun. Food is awesome and well priced. Great staff who are always friendly and accommodating. Great local pub.

The Lowdown: Sometimes its hard to find a good burger, but every now and then, you come across an unexpected surprise like this little Southern Fried Chicken Burger from Cookie’s. On first glance you wonder how you’ll tackle this burger; pieces of southern fried chicken (buttermilk batter with some tasty spices) stacked on a mound of slaw with chilli aioli cascading down the delicious crispy fried chicken. But that irrational fear is quickly gone once you take a few bites and its all gone.

Pro tip: Well paired with an ice cold scotch on the rocks!

Friendly pub, and a nice spot for a catch up with friends. Food was on the pricier side for what it was, and was average at best.
