Coombe - The Melba Estate

Charming place. Garden tour available at certain times at a cost. There is a little shop selling goodies for the home, including plants, gardening tools, decor, house made jam, chutney, etc. A small gallery next door and a beautiful pricey restaurant- bright and stunning. The staff in the shop was lovely. Unfortunately, could not say the same with the staff at the restaurant. We were there for coffee and dessert. A staff who brought water splashed quite a bit of water onto us but no apologies was uttered. Both coffee and desserts were placed on the wrong table before being brought to ours, at separate occasions. We were served by a few different staff throughout and none were friendly and was given eating spoon for dessert. Very disappointed at the service- especially at a high end restaurant. Coffee and dessert were ok. Dessert was too sweet for our preference.
