Cooper Street Clinic

Been going to cooper st for years! Not sure what's with all the whinge buckets on this page. The doctors are great, there is rarely a wait time and the staff are very knowledgeable.

My mother is 100 years old and her GP works at this practice; when he could no longer see her at the nursing home where she lives, the clinic did little to ensure she had the ongoung care of a doctor in his absence. They failed to provide a continuing replacement and left it to the nursing home to advise me of the situation. They failed in their duty of care to a long time patient of the clinic. I would advise ‘patient beware’.

I tried to make an appointment for my 2 children under the age of 2, however they would not accept new patients on Saturdays. They were more interested in talking about their charges (which were much higher than other practices in the area) rather than booking an appointment. I would not want to rely on them for an emergency. Clearly more interested in $$ rather than duty of care!

You would think that being an early appointment and paying a large premium you would still not have to wait for 45 minutes. Really bad service. No respect for the patients time.

First time to visit this clinic and I called prior to my appointment to ask about the cost of an appointment. There was a significance price difference between a short appointment of about 10-15 minutes for approximately 10 minutes and a longer appointment of up to 30 minutes which was approximately $150. During my appointment I made sure to keep it a short appointment but was required to pay the $150 amount because first time patients are charged for a longer consultation even if it only lasted ten minutes. I was extremely angry about this as I was not told in advance, especially given I had called up to find out the cost of coming to this clinic. If I had've known I wouldn't have gone in the first place or I would have made sure to make good use of every cent that I work extremely hard for!
