You wouldn't believe there was indoor dining if you simply walked past this hole-in-the-wall cafe. Mornings are frantically busy with city workers getting their caffeine fix but if you drop by in the afternoon, you pretty much have the whole place to yourself. The chai is a nice leaf brew served in a pot.
This is another one of those places that I would regularly walk past when I was recently in Sydney, namely because it was a short walk from my hotel. However I never thought of stopping here for a coffee. So, on my very last day, on my final walk around the place, I decided to step in here and grab a coffee. Basically it is more of a pit stop where people grab a coffee and then head off to where ever they are heading (which for me was basically a brisk morning walk). Okay, they did have some seating inside but it was pretty cramped, and there was a small table outside. However I ended up doing what most people did and that was grab a coffee and then head off, finding another place to sit down with it. The coffee wasn't all that bad, but it was what I would expect from Sydney prices.
Corduroy is a little whole in the wall that smart people gather around during the day to collect good food and coffee.
Despite looking small, if you walk into this tiny cafe, there are actually a few tables and chairs in the back to have a quiet and relaxing feed or if you're after the sun they take recycling to the next level by placing milk crates out as make-shift chairs. Which are well received by patrons.
Not just good for their strong coffee, their breakfast options are crazy stupid good AND cheap, plus their little known lunch options are also along the same lines. Home food done well and taking everyone by surprise.
I love this cafe, it's such a nice representation of the little guy winning.
