Never enough staff on the checkouts and the stupid queue to check your receipt as you exit the building. Avoid weekends if possible.

Costco gives the standard Ozzie a taste of the 'supersized' Yankee shopping life :)
You must be a member (or be attending with a member) to enter the shop at all and at $60/year, if you don't shop enough, you mightn't find it beneficial.
On entry, some of the staff are friendlier than others, don't take it personally how abrupt they can be asking to see your membership card as they do have a lot of people coming through the doors.
Personally, I love Costco, however you do need to do your homework before shopping as you can be taken by the 'hugeness' of this place and buy up big without needing to. It's a great place to shop, bulk buy, and when things are on 'special' the price is very competitive. ...read more

If you're looking for bulk bargains, then chances are Costco has what you're looking for.
You do need to be a member to enter the store, or be a guest of a member, which costs around $60 pa. There's everything from TV sets to diamond jewellery, fresh food, eggs, tin tuna and pet food and beds to clothing, razors and frozen food.
It can get pretty busy so if you're after a leisurely browse, that could prove difficult.
There's lots of parking, but again, that can be at a premium in busy times.
The food area is often packed and I'm yet to give it a try as long queues for pizza and hotdogs isn't really my thing.

I'm a 17 year old and went to Costco to grab some pizzas. I brought my mothers Costco membership card and they rejected me access to the food court. I really will never understand why people under 18 cannot purchase pizza. This is ridiculous.

Great range of products and lots of parking. They have some really good specials at times and food tasting to sample products. Buying in bulk can be good and bad as some products are just too big!
