Key to succes of this shop is exceptionally fresh fish. Only the freshest seafood makes up this selection for you to prepare yourself, have grilled (healthiest) or batter fried for you in the cleanest of oil. If not eating in at the bench mention length of homeward journey and cooking time will be adjusted so it's perfect when you get there. Huge pity Steve Costi's relative at Rose Bay Costis doesn't have the same exceptional freshness standards would be a welcome addition if all their fish was top quality and fresh every single day. same goes for their cooking oil.
Costi's Famous Fish Co is perhaps the most premium seafood shop that I have ever been in my entire life. The place has a very premium feel with white tiles across the intimately set space, unlike the usual fish and chips shops that are usually very run down. It is also very clean, cool, and dry it feels like being in a kitchen of a very large and modern house.
The shop sells fresh seafood as well as freshly prepared dishes and salad which you can enjoy eating in, although they only have limited wall tables. The staffs were very prompt and friendly, and the ordering process was very quick and painless. The cooking did take a while but I took that as a sign that they did properly.
And they did. My grilled salmon, chips, and salad dish was quite delicious and also reasonably portioned. The price was also quite affordable and appropriate for the area. I will definitely be coming back for another serve!
