Crafers Historic Hotel has been totally renovated, modernised, a new kitchen installed, new amenities, new alfresco area. This has been a major undertaking, which has has taken 12 months or more, but is finally completed. The owner has upgraded the entire hotel a a considerable cost. There is also a new chef, and menu. We had a great lunch from the new menu, salt & pepper squid, perfectly prepared along with excellent service. A great addition for the Adelaide Hills.
Crafers historical hotel, circa 1880. Now renovated, modernised and restored.
The Hotel has been thoughtfully decorated, retaining the best features of natural stone and brick walls, oak flooring, ceiling beams and roses, with three large open fireplaces, two with Victorian style surrounds complete with original mantles. Makes for an inviting, cosy, comfortable venue for Lunch, Dinner, or a comfortable Beer, Coffee stop, while in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. We enjoyed a large bowl of fries, and very well made smooth boutique coffee, while sitting beside an open fire. It was lunch time, raining outside, understandably the Hotel was crowded. We found the staff friendly, helpful, and well organised. Must return for dinner as the menu has some very appealing dishes available."
Well done pub standards plus a few interesting extras. Beautiful salt 'n pepper squid. Steaks and schnitzels are 1st class. Not overpriced. Generous servings that you will struggle to finish. Good pool table. Still has that country pub feel without being too far out the city. Great for after work drinks in outdoor table area. Popular with locals.
