Crispy Bakery

I bought a few apple turnovers here, admittedly it was around 7pm at night. The cream was sour (as in SOUR) and the pastry was so old it was like chewing lino. Seriously inedible! They weren't even discounted or anything, but they were clearly a few days old - on closer inspection, the cream had developed a hardened 'skin'. Pretty gross.

Their potato and herb sourdough is great. Lots of sourdough choices. Also they have bagels, fruit scones and some sweet treats. There aren't any over-the-top sweets on display and it's more of a bakery than a patisserie.

Conveniently open 24 hours.

Crispy Inn is open all hours, be there early to get their fresh rye loaves. They also do a great Neenish Tart, but if you wait til the afternoon you might miss out.
