Really difficult to join unless you want to pay for intro courses and nonsense long term joining fees. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to walk into a gym as a man and pay individual sessions at your discretion and get on with it, not here I am afraid, prepare to go through hoops to just get on with it.
After years of a variety of exercises from "dancing" in a high impact class, pump, cycle, to traditional weight lifting style ( i.e back and bi's, chest and tri's etc) i decided it was time for some variety. CrossFit has done a couple of things: it has challenged my definition of fitness and it has offered me an opportunity to really consider the mechanics of my movements so i don't injure myself. But by far the greatest attraction of this big tin box is the "community". Strangers encourage your set, people whose names you don't know cheer you on and offer friendly suggestions to improve your technique or attempt a noval exercise. How often do you go the gym and speak to no one but the reception staff? How often are you conscious of the competitiveness of the fellow on the next bench, who wont share his/her weights. How often do you feel intimidated by those exercising around you.......WELL if you want something different to this, try CrossFit You will be challenged, ...read more
Hi Chris,
Thank you for detailing your experiences at our "box."
We do our best to make everyone welcome and create an environment for the best fitness community on the planet. It's our members that make the place what it is.
Regards, Adam.
Nothing but good things to say. Amazing trainers, great facilities and an excellent environment to stay fit. People have asked me why I go the the gym so often. After thinking about it, it is mainly because I just don't want to miss a single day. I've got a bunch of friends to casually compete against, the warm-ups and workouts are both fun and challenging and the trainers are excellent resources at my disposal.
Joel,
Thank you for your kind words.
It is always a pleasure to have you in the gym.
Cheers, Adam.
I contacted crossfit Vic via email and spoke to a staff (a great salesman and motivator btw - the star is for him). I arrived tonight at 6.10pm to sign up and try out an elements session (for technique etc). The gym looked gr8 and the training seemed fun. I stood at the front office (clearly a new client) and sadly not one staff member came to my assistance. At $250 a month I would have thought that a staff member would be on hand to sign up new clients (especially before an elements class). The training sessions are only half of the reason people sign up!! I'll be going elsewhere.
Kel7,
My name is Adam Stanecki. I am one of the owners at CrossFit Victoria.
I am very unhappy to hear about your experience at my gym. This should simply not have happened. Your time is important and you should have been attended to promptly.
I apologise for your time being wasted. You deserve significantly better service than you received.
Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention. It will be attended too and improvements will be made.
I understand if you do not wish to train with us yet I would still like to talk to you about what happened. (Please reply here if you are interested in talking.)
Sincerely, Adam Stanecki

Kel7,
I have discussed this matter with the staff who were working last night.
There was someone on the front desk from 6:10-6:30, no one approached the reception area during this time. The class coach also did not notice anyone waiting at the front door at any point in the evening.
Further, there were no bookings to view classes, join the elements class or talk to a coach. Therefore, no staff members were expecting a visit.
Can you please contact us with your name so that we can determine what actually happened?
Thank you, Adam.
Kelly,
Thank you for calling today. It was great to talk to you about your experience. I'm glad that we got to the bottom of it and discovered that you visited in a small window when no one was on reception. We didn't know that you were visiting and would have been ready for you had there been an appointment.
You are more than welcome to come back and join our Elements sessions. Just let us know when you'll be in and we'll be on deck to show you around. There are no hard feelings on our end.
Sincerely, Adam.
