Crossroads Bar - Swissotel
For luxe cocktails and plush surrounds, it is worth the trip up eight floors of the Swisshotel in Syndey's CBD to Crossroads Bar. Ambient yet relaxed, it is a great place to meet with business colleagues or to start a night out away from the city's hustle and bustle. Martinis and mezze plates are the way to go.

For some reason I felt the need to purchase the most expensive burger on the menu. I've never paid almost $30 for a burger in my life, but it's a hotel bar and prices are deliberately inflated to exploit international tourists in order for our country to maintain a sustainable prosperous economy - so it was time to make my contribution and support the service industry that carries all of us! The MOOD & INTERIOR of the place is quite futuristic with European influences - it is Swiss after all, even my burger had Swiss cheese! The booths are quite high so you've got total privacy which are ideal for corporate lunch meetings, dates, secret affairs and any intimate rendesvouz.THE AUSTRALIAN BLACK ANGUS BURGER is a full and hearty meal. The open burger comes in two halves - one with the chargrilled patty resting on brioche as the cheese melts over it. The second half hosts the double smoked bacon and the hand cut fries filling the plate to the side. Excellent
My visit here was led by a groupon deal I bought with the girls. We often go to high tea for catchups but unfortunately this one wasn't up to scratch. There was a limited range of food available, and nothing special plus the tea was simply T2 packets. There's great ambience but not sure if I will return.
The combination of high tea and buffet is very appealing. Securing a coupon deal of $69 for 2 (instead of $55 pp), we visited Crossroads for their afternoon high tea buffet.
We were greeted with a wide selection of savoury and sweet treats. Savoury included mini quiches, sausage rolls, salmon bagels and cucumber sandwiches. Sweet included lemon meringue tarts, mango pannacotta, chocolate eclairs and cheesecake. There were also various fruits and marshmallows ready to be dipped into the small chocolate fountain. All the food was reasonable quality. Except I was disappointed in the scones. It was too dense and not warm with a scarcity of ...read more
Well worth the trip to Crossroads for the High Tea with is particularly perfect for a casual baby shower, kitchen tea or just because catch up. From the minute you walk in the entrance of the Swissotel right up to Crossroads on Level 8, the service is impeccable. There was plenty of variety in the petit fours, sandwiches and sweets (shared between 2) and all accompanied with a glass of sparkling and what feels like a lead weight cast iron kettle of tea. The price is around the same as other venues (although keep an eye out for the deals which work out to be great value for groups of 4). Fantastic service and very friendly staff.
Crossroads Bar itself is a great venue if you are looking for somewhere with a nice City view, not too crowded and pretty casual for a drink after work.
