Exchanged some money for Sri Lanka and my fault as I thought they were good as they are for USD For Sri Lanka I paid about 30% more for my exchange than what I could get at the airport in Sri Lanka. Absolutely disgusted with their concversion rate. For $216 AU I realy only got about $140 Au equivalent in Sri Lankan. BEWARE and always check the true rates.
Understand your point. I travel a lot and I understand that some currencies, like that from Sri Lanka and some other less travelled countries are hard to come by. Because volumes are small, the cost price the retailer has to pay is much higher than for say British pounds. It can be the case that the rate in the destination country may be better although not often.
