Beautiful room however what a major let down on service. My partner and I booked 2 nights for his birthday and on the second day were locked out of our room for hours when they told us they did not have the 2nd night in their system, I luckily supplied the itinerary however were still told they wanted to charge me an extra $300 for the night. I called my booking agent who said my funds and my booking were definitely sent to them. I was furious for a stuff around day and no 2 bottles of champagne would compensate for the massive error on their end which they never apologised for.
Very impressed with interior and staff very accomodating. The only negative experience was at Level 28 bar . Again, the staff were very friendly however the music was too loud and was not a relaxing bar at all. I felt like i was at a nightclub and this ruined the beautiful surroundings.
Metropol has the potential to be 'as good as it gets' hotel, since the rooms are everything you'd expect & more, the standard & cleanliness is of exceptional quality. It's just unfortunate that our experience was a severe let down by the staff service at reception. We took time out of the first day of our honeymoon to bring it to the managers attention, to which he was very apologetic & studious in addressing our complaints. I think our dealings with the reception/reservation department is what really disappointed us. Basically all the prior planning & organizing when booking the rooms at Metropol hotel could not have avoided the calamity we experienced because the reservations are scheduled upon check-in & 2 of the rooms we had requested had been allocated to other guests.
