Currumbin Community Special School

It was fantastic to recently attend Harmony Day put on by the Currumbin Community Special School.
It was a great showcase of cultural foods and activities and a fundraiser for the school too.
Lots of fun had by students, parents and visitors alike.
A fabulous environment with dedicated staff looking after these special kids.

Currumbin Community Special School has expanded to around 100 students now. They've had a couple of demountables put in & more equipment also. The car wash is still a fabulous project and their library is well stocked. I love it that the students can stay here in the one place for the entirety of their schooling. The seniors have a section to themselves at the school also. And they can go surfing, to their school gym, music, and more. It's so wonderful and all the kids seem to thrive. Great job CCSS!

This is such a beautiful school of about 70 special needs students looked after & educated by wonderful dedicated staff. They have a "Glambition" hair salon to teach hairdressing, the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program, an outdoor pizza oven, a gym, a wheelchair swing, buses for outings, a basketball area, bee hives, playgrounds, bike tracks, & many more features & programs like their Car Wash, and Story Dogs to name a few. They take students from prep thru to finishing high school, plus a transition year.
The admin staff in the office area are awesome, welcoming & adore the students also. The P&C are a wonderful little bunch of mums who organize fundraising, cake stalls, the tuckshop, and fun discos every few weeks, plus much more.
I can't recommend this school highly enough. It's the best in its field.
