I wish I could give this review 9/5 to balance out the overall rating as it looks like True Local are unwilling to remove my previous one. The issue alluded to in that post was the result of a misunderstanding. In fact a member of staff rang me in her own free time and we had a detailed talk about what went down, our own personal reactions and solutions for some sort of resolution. By the way, I did get my money back and the receptionist wasn't at fault. She had no authority in the financial apects of the clinic and was only trying to do her job.
After going around in circles for thirteen sessions, I told my therapist in an email that I had worked out exactly what was going wrong in my life in one sentence. I was experiencing an existential crisis (depression primarily concerned with whether your life has any meaning or value). I said I'd do one more session then a take a bit of a break to see how things go. I never heard back.
Hardly the mark of a professional but life goes on.
Honestly, I'm a little embarrassed by the number of posts I've made so far but don't dismiss the notion of seeking help through this channel by anything I may have written beforehand.
My last posting was written in a state of disillusionment. I'm not backtracking and pretend that I wasn't but the truth is when I originally came here to the clinic my self-worth was barely there. I learnt some stress management, my confidence was boosted and I was instilled with a sense of hope. I'm no soothsayer but odds are my life was probably saved. As I said, my head was in a pretty bad way.
I just had to put this out there just in case there is someone at the end of their tether who stumbles across this page. This could really help. That's all and no more posts, I promise. Peace to you all.
