D O C Pizza & Mozarella

Authentic Italian experience right here in Carlton. Will definitely be back :)

I love this retaurant. The food is fantastic and I love the authentic Italian staff. It's usually busy, but well worth the wait if you can't get a table immediately. There's lots to do on Lygon St to kill a bit of time. Parking in the area is unnavoidably horrendous - the only negative experience when eating out in Carlton.

I ended up here because a friend of mine was leaving Australia to return home and decided to have this place as her the location for her farewell dinner, and I have to admit I was incredibly impressed. In fact this is probably one of the most authentic Italian restaurants I have visited, particularly since most so called Italian restaurants are restaurants in name only. Anyway, the pizzas are pretty decently Italian, and we also have the opporunity to try a cheese a meat platter, which was, well, different. They also have a fine selection of Italian wines, and even some pretty decent Italian craft beers. Mind you, I would recommend that you book ahead because from the crowds where on Sunday night this place definitely wasn’t a secret.

The best proscuitto and mozarella di buffalo pizza in Melbourne. Always feel like I am in a little town in Italy when I dine here and it always takes me back to one of my first dates with my partner. The Nutella Calzone is also a must order if you have room for dessert post all the pizza and carbs.

Best pizzas in town, hands down! This place is always busy and do not accept bookings for smaller groups. Be prepared to wait average 1-1.5 hours outside which is the only negative about this place.

DOC pizza is my favourite pizza of choice and their pear salad is also amazing to complement. Staff there are also so friendly and are happy to crack a joke to make their customers feel welcome and enjoy their meals. Always happy to come back!
