Buyer Beware!
Ok Long post but I feel I have to share this and warn other people.
I took my Subaru in to have a exedy clutch kit fitted that I purchased only to have it quickly explode into a double billed charge on labor alone because of the mechanics incompetence to notice a faulty component and to put the blame anywhere but themselves.
After first pick up of the car they told me they barely took it for a test drive because they were too busy, I shrugged it off thinking no biggie and payed the bill then jumped in the car... I right away noticed that the clutch pedal itself was shaking around like crazy and asked them why, They replied it's a part of the bed ...read more
Trustworthy, technically skilled, honest and a fair price! D R Concepts have performed log book servicing and repairs on my car on four occasions since 2012. Over the years, I have taken my car to various mechanics, including dealer garages, and realise it is very difficult to find excellent service at a reasonable price. I can thoroughly recommend D R Concepts and will be taking my car there for its next service. When you find a good mechanic, the best advice is to hang on to them!
We recently had a head gasket blown on our five year old Toyota from coolant issues, subsequently bringing it to them. What should be a routine job in a mechanic's skill book ended horribly, with one cylinder permanently nonfunctional, a constant rattling noise not dissimilar to older cars, a 25% decrease in fuel efficiency (read from the car's computer) and constant stalling while running, among a long list of created problems.
Even worse, the mechanics refused to acknowledge that they were at fault, and demanded that the original quote be scrapped to add the cost of reopening the engine and additional parts to attempt to fix the issue without guarantee.
As such, a protested payment for the now ruined car was made as DR refused to release it without payment.
Warning to others: stay away.
A blown headgasket is a serious issue which can cause severe damage and even complete engine failure. Repairing a failed headgasket is a major job requiring removal of the cylinder head from the engine block. Only when the cylinder head is off, can the mechanic properly investigate the extent of any potential engine damage. It sounds like your failed headgasket lead to severe engine damage before the mechanic started his investigation.
