Previously was the Little Jade Dog Caf, so I was keen to find out what had changed. The menu is completely different, but I enjoyed a warm smoked chicken salad - great flavours of rocket, parmesan, pear and walnuts, and of course the chicken (although a little too salty for my liking). The chicken in the salad was plentiful as were the other ingredients. As for the service, well, it was both wonderful and mediocre depending on who you got. The wait staff lacked customer service skills (does it hurt to say how are you and thank you these days?) but another woman made up for it by being pleasant & friendly.
This place has changed hands and the service has gone downhill... The modern, funky decor is great. The coffee is just OK. As for the food & service, I had breakfast there this week - my friend was given burnt toast with eggs and I had a piece of banana bread that was burnt around the edges. When my friend complained to staff that the toast was burnt, the woman replied "Oh... that's just the toaster." (!) She didn't offer to replace it. It did not look appetizing, and should never have been offered to a customer in the first place. Hopefully they learn to use the toaster soon or we won't be returning!!
Great little cafe in Mitcham. Extensive menu with usual favourites as well as some interesting selections. All menu item names have a canine influence (eg the "Toto Tortilla") and of course, there are a couple of doggie water bowls outside. There is indoor and outdoor seating available with nice modern decor. What really impresses me is the service. It is fantastic - very friendly & efficient. And the food is pretty delicious too!
