David Fleay Wildlife Park
Nestled in a secluded haven in the heart of Burleigh Heads is David Fleay Wildlife Park.
The park plays an important role in demonstrating Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service's conservation initiatives, particularly relating to threatened species. With dozens of threatened species in the Park for research, breeding and education, the park presents the best opportunity to see a large number of threatened native animals in one location. Discover a diversity of threatened wildlife as you amble through the cool green rainforest, containing cassowaries and Lumholtz’s tree kangaroos.

impressive small native wildlife park at gold coast with daily talks by knowledgeable keepers on animals such as tree kangaroo, snakes, platypus. Easy to walk around by yourself and exhibits are large, natural and animals look well looked after. Animals include salt water crocodile, cassowary, lumholtz tree kangaroo, etc. entry prices are very reasonable and highly recommend
There is more to this park then meets the eye! This park is more focused on the education and conservation side of things. There's a beautiful cafe that has an outdoor balcony, and a good priced menu compared to other zoos. Native Australian animals flourish in their natural habitats, and sometimes you may even be lucky enough to see a baby borolga. Definitely worth visiting :)
This is one of those quiet hidden gems that mostly the Burleigh locals know about. It's not designed to be anything other than a great place to see Australian native animals. The decks are all well designed and easy to follow and we often bring international visitors here. You can avoild the crowds of the bigger parks and get to see some threatened natives like the bilby or hard to spot species like the platypus. And for those who want - you can still get a photo with a koala. Beware of the cheeky bower birds in the aviary who will steal anything blue! Otherwise, enjoy the crocs, snakes, wombats, dingos, emus, roos and nocturnal house within in a couple of hours without the hustle and bustle. There's an average feed and gift shop with Australiana at the beginning / end of the tour.
