David Jones

Located inside the large Westfield Carindale Shopping Centre, this David Jones store occupies two floors of relatively standard-size retail space (at least for David Jones' standard), in which entrances are accessible from inside the shopping centre. The design and atmosphere of the store is a little bit classic (read: slightly outdated) although the layout still looks quite clean and properly maintained. The warm yellow ambiance accentuates thes store to look like in the 90s stores.

That Sunday afternoon the patronage was not that many, so there was quite a bit of a room to move. As per the usual “Department Store 101”, the cosmetics section is located on level one — together with the womens clothing for the rest of the floor, with everything else on level two (such as mens, confectionery, and appliances). The separation of sections are a little less explicit, so you can get the feel of flow browsing from one end to the other.
