David Jones

Having received a david jones gift card for our wedding, we thought it would be good to go into the store and purchase our essential household item; the fridge as a way to celebrate starting a new chapter.

Rather than purchasing it online, we thought we would help out this department store.

We paid over $1000 for our fridge on the 2nd of feb and was told it was out of stock, but the following weekend it should be delivered.

It is now the 27th of february and we have no fridge. We have been eating out alot since we cant pre-cook at the risk of food poisoning. I am 30 weeks pregnant and not having a fridge for the past 4 weeks is hard. The new possible date-of-delivery is the first week of March!!!!

This is a really poor outcome coming from such a longstanding Aussie department store!! All we get is an apology? what about the number of times we had to spend eating out?????

I don't mind this store as they have their own parking that's independant of Chatswood Westfield. Range much smaller than the CBD stores though, so I only use it in a pinch.

The store was very quiet today (Friday) and it was nice being able to browse the store slowly without worrying about the crowds. Some of the fitting rooms need a refurbishment and also the parents room doesn't has any hot water or filter water for bottles. They also look a bit dated.

We bought a lounge on the weekend and we're served by a wonderful woman called Pauline. She was incredibly professional, very knowledgeable and really helped us in our decision without being pushy at all. So with thanks to her we have a great lounge and a perfect sales experience.

DJs had s further 40% off reduced items in most areas of the store for the financials year end. Grabbed a few bargains and enjoyed trawling through the sale racks!
Staff were very busy and there were quite a few people for a weekday. The lifts work again which is great for mothers with prams.
