Dawat Indian Restaurant

I used to go to Dawat for years, I always told everyone that it was the best indian I'd ever had. But after living in Ipswich for 3 years and recently coming back, I went back to Dawat after 3 years of being away and I think the management have changed because it was awful. The butter chicken didn't look like the normal butter chicken, it normally is orangey but this was really red, didn't taste like butter chicken. The rice used to have saffron in it, I don't think the rice had that this time. The naan were like pancakes, undercooked and the mango lassi I ordered (which is like a smoothie) came in a food takeaway container because they had run out of drink containers. Very disappointed. Won't be going back

2nd time the meat was tough - lamb tasted like beef gristly - called them they were nice and said would replace the whole 2 person meal.

Rang them back to get my free meal - they had electricity problems and said no

Rang them last night - massive attitude by the staff who served me told me they only said if get the naan and lamb (if it was lamb) free -

The restaurant was empty - I can see why - not a single person on a Saturday night - won't ever go back !

I been going there for a long time but yes when the change hands I have to say it was so bad who put a meat starter and put it with a veg one ? It not if the food was any good the kebab look terrible save your money and go some were who got 5 star

I too have been going to Dawat for many years however the restaurant is now under new management and the rudeness of the staff was enough for my family to up and leave after a few minutes. Give it a big miss.

I have been going to Dawat's for many years now and would have to say that in general the food is always of good value and I must say I love the Tandori Chicken Wings.



The wait staff are always friend and I would recommend this indian restaurant to all.
