Very disappointed with the mercenary attitude displayed lately. I know that this is a business, and they need to make a profit, but really.
One strip of tablets (10 in all) over $40. When I pointed out that I could buy them for $70 for 100, they told me they wouldn't give me a prescription until my elderly, arthritic dog had a $360 blood test for kidney function. This was after wanting me to pay for x-rays of $300-400 to confirm that it was arthritis. They couldn't give me the prescription same day because they had to wait for the test results to come back. I asked if they could email me the script the next day, but no, they couldn't, as they don't have a scanner (really, after all the money you are raking in, you can't afford a scanner?) so I went in the next day (making a special trip after work of course) and they charged $22 to write the script. It was late on a Friday and I didn't have time to make it to the bank. My grieving kids were crying in the waiting room, just heartbroken and the vet started getting really nasty about payment. I said I could go to the bank and make an OTC withdrawal first thing in the morning but he was not willing to listen to me. We'd been going to that vet for several years and always been reliable. He basically accused me of trying to rip him off and said "you agreed to all these tests and I told you how much it was going to cost". I was on the verge of leaving my watch and wedding ring as collateral. He insisted on talking a photo copy of my licence. It was a horrible experience. Our beloved cat had just died moments before ...read more
We rang just after closing time as our cat was having breathing problems. They had surgery but kept the centre open and waited for us, then were very patient and professional. Unfortunately the prognosis was not good and we were given the option of easing our old cat's passing. We were not rushed at all, and were given several options. I really appreciated their understanding and kindness.
