I was just looking online and saw these negative reviews. My wife and I were amazed as we live a long way from Morley but would not go anywhere else for our needs. We had 2 separate times when we used this shop. Firstly for enlarging a gold wedding band. This was done well and the quote and price were much cheaper than other jewellers. The second time was to repair a fine intricate gold chain. Again the cost to us was a pleasant surprise as we had been quoted a lot more elsewhere. Having read the reviews I get the feeling that some people will never be content and just like complaining. We will be back and we have recommended our daughter visit to look at wedding rings. I was given unprofessional and disrespectful customer service over the phone.
You gave us the wrong information. This is wasting our time. I will take your necklace apart, so you pick it up and take it to some other jeweler to get it done. I do not want this business. I am the business owner and I decide which job I take
Above comment was made when we came across discrepancies in regards to the extension length of my necklace that had been measured at the shop earlier. Instead of trying to sort out the problems, she started telling me above comment. I have never been treated like this as a customer. This is the way how they run their business?!
It is very disappointing after using their service by our family including my husband, my sister in-law and my mother in-law for the last over 10years.
We do not speak to our clients as described in the review.
We did offer to refund her money so that she could take it to another jewellers because she was so upset.
She was not happy with the length of a chain. We altered it the first time for no charge but she was still not happy and wanted it changed again. We always endeavor to ensure our clients are happy but occasionally we just have to accept that there is nothing more we can do.
The necklace was altered only once. not twice. I wrote the original comment just after picked up my necklace, not 10 months later.
I clearly remember that I left the necklace there after trying it on without any payment, as it was a bit too long.
Later the lady rang me to inform me it costs extra. I said that it was measured by a young girl at the shop, not me. Then the lady started to talk to me like that on the phone and hung up on me, that's why I asked my husband to talk to her on the phone again. In the end we agreed to go ahead to fix the length.
By the way, I paid for it including extra $ to fix the length, I still keep that receipt.
Not happy was told my white gold 14k would be used in remodel of ring. Only to be told after job they will not reuse white gold. So ended up paying for less quality 9k gold and bigger bill. BUYERS BEWARE OF promises from this business.
We never re-use 14ct white gold because of the alloys used to make it white. Sometimes it can be alloyed down to 9ct white by adding silver which CAN make the metal usable but not always. Clients are informed of this. We do try to use their metal but if it doesn't work then yes we do charge for supplying new 9ct white gold but this is always discussed before the job is taken on. We never got ahead with using new gold without discussing with the client first. In this case the discussion occurred when the order was first placed. Maybe they did not understand that if we used their gold it would have cracked up overtime and clearly that would ALSO be our fault!
My partner & I have had various items made from Diamonds By Design and we have always been amazed at how well each piece has been made . Karen has always informed us prior to them starting if any more gold is required and if any potential issues can become of what we have requested . We recommend them to people who are looking for a good jeweller as we've never been disappointed in any work they've done for us . good on you Guys
