Very close to north Sydney station is a branch of Din tai fung, part of Greenwiod Plaza, so it's open to the ever passing crowd that walk through here, so it's good for people watching. Not dirt cheap but that's ok, it is a nice set up. In a fan of those steamed pork dumplings. Vegetarians are also catered for . Swift service too.

From my youth, one of my favourite dishes of all time is the Wonton Soup, a bit of greens, but definitely no noodles. It's great to find a place which does this perfectly. The wontons are always made fresh (definitely never frozen), packed with pork and shrimp. At the time of writing its $6.90 for 4 wontons, or $8.90 for six wontons. Add plenty of soy sauce, if you like it to my tastes.
I have tried the fried rice and other dishes, but honestly they are beyond a rip off. I could eat three of the fried rice dishes, at about $13 a pop. I would call it pricey, but being based in North Sydney one of the most important aspects is speed for the locals, so they can get back to work. Din Tai Fung is no place for a workmans lunch.
