Unlike the mainstream method of dreadlock creation we create instant, permanent dreads that are 100% natural. There are NO chemicals, products, or wax used at all. We use a method derived from the traditional Thai hook method, which we call "Divine Hand & Hook". This is the very best way to make dreadlocks! Each and every hair is tightly interwoven and locked together naturally.
All other methods require waxing & rolling the dread to make sure it locks. This process can take 6-12 months of work by you after you've paid big money at the salon!
With our dreadlock creation there is no rolling & your dreads are formed perfectly in one sitting.
Em (owner, teacher +Loctician) has been dreadlocking around the world and in Byron Shire since the year 2000. There is not a dreadlock issue she can't handle! A year and a half ago, Ema sat me down in her sunny backyard and fixed my frustratingly loose and messy dreads by locking them neatly and permanently - all done with a crochet hook, skilled hands and a smile! I left feeling like I'd gotten great value for money and believed so strongly in her method that I attended the Level One Locktician Course. It was fun, inspiring and professional and I am now stoked to be practising my new skills in Canada - thanks Ema - I'm glad I learnt from the master!
I want to express my gratitude of having my dreadlocks done by Divine Dreadlocks. It was my dream to have them for a long time but couldn t find the right place to make them perfectly around Byron area as I made a big search about other studio s. Once I had my dreads made by a friend and I had lot of trouble to take them out. So, now I m really carefull and make sure they are gonna be made by divine hands. When I went to Divine Dreadlocks, Ema had a big smile in her face and made me feel at home. When I walk on the streets in Byron Bay, people ask who made my dreads all the time, Im really stucked! I got dreads a year ago from a hairdresser in the area, and after surfing every day for 2 weeks they were opening up! The people who made them said I should roll wax onto them for about 6 months until they lock in properly. I wasn't into that idea so I did some research and found Divine Dreadlocks online and loved what I read - no wax, no chemicals, no rolling, just neat tight natural dreads. I found Divine Dreadlocks on the net and decided Ema seemed like the perfect person to create my dreads. I first had half head of dreads done and they were tight, neat and chemical free. After a while I got my whole head done by Ema. Iv had them for about 6months and love them. Ema is a lovely person who does an awesome job. I constantly go back for maintenance and everytime I am happy with the job. I would recommend Ema to anyone who wants dreads or wants to know anything about them.
