Was honestly not expecting to buy at a dealer but price was comparable and service was fabulous. We bought a one year old second hand Toyota Corolla hybrid. Rick gave us all the info we needed & didn’t give the hard sell. The product sells itself and Downtown Toyota were super helpful with the process. Would highly recommend and also would buy again through them.
I am very happy with my experience with the service department at Downtown Toyota's Morningside office. I have always expected getting my car serviced or repaired at a toyota dealership was going to cost me twice as much as anywhere else but having experienced shoddy repairs and services elsewhere I decided to take my car to Downtown Toyota. I have been very pleasantly surprised. I have been to them for problems with the catalytic converter, electronics, replacement tyres and service. Costs have been similar or less than elsewhere and service has been great. My most recent experience was a noise coming from the suspension that has been bugging me for months. I took it to some other people some time back and they couldn't find the problem. I finally took it to Downtown today. I had a whine from my differential which was fixed under warranty a little over 12 months ago - no problem. I understand some vehicles have factory faults in all makes. A few months out of warranty and it develops a more severe problem with clunking from the diff. I was advised to bring it in for the worker to look at who may choose to repair it at their own discretion. This turned out to be a complete waste of time and meant I had my van off the road 3 days more than it had to be. I was told it definitely was not a factory fault. I asked how this was possible as the van had always been used under normal conditions and the reply was 'this kind of thing does not happen under normal conditions'. It's nice to know that some things remain a constant with Downtown Toyota. Warranty denial campaigns, strenuous objections, and a fatally flawed attitude to customers remains to this day!
My family and I bought 4 cars from this dealership, and the amount of things that were overlooked when our vehicles went in for servicing was staggering.
On my Camry, there was a well documented issue with the dashboard lifting up around the defogger vents. Despite the car under warranty, with a 'Toyota Extra Care' extended warranty purchased from new, the dealer and its service advisors continued with the denial campaigns, until the car was out of warranty.
