Today I had a wonderful experience in this store. I was told there had been a change of ownership recently so I went to down today to buy some things for my home and I was pleasantly surprised. The variety of stock has improved greatly, the store is much cleaner and what impressed me the most were the staff. I was greeted by a concierge when I walked in and was helped with a smile. I will be back Downunder. Well done on the improvement!
I have been using this hardware store since 1998 when it was a mitre ten. The staff are lovely, unfortunately the management, who i had the misfortune of meeting this morning, is very rude. A door drop delivered 40% - 10% off vouchers to use 21-22 october. We visited the store the day before to verify that a bbq was not on sale and therefore eligible for use with voucher. The first member of staff verified this and the second was good enough to place it aside for us for collection with our voucher in the morning. My partner and I took time off work, obtained a ute for transport and headed in to purchase said bbq, only to be told by the management that we couldnt use it because it was 'already a sale item', even though it wasnt on the computer and wasnt marked. We then tried to purchase a full price (as marked on the shelves) shower head, but nope, they said we couldnt have that either. They have lost a customer for good. Poor show.
There used to be a dozen or so old houses on this site, before they were bought up and for six months later dozens of trucks hauled soil from the site as they dug deep down for the underground carpark. I had my doubts about the centre as Indooroopilly Shoppingtown was so dominant at the time, but I've come around. There is a good mix of shops, from electrical to fast food and Spotlight and hardware downstairs. It is easy to get into and out of except for the new speedbumps, which rattle the bones a bit.
