Dr Janette Brooks has a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and a PhD. Before commencing private practice 6 years ago, she spent 12 years working as a clinician and researcher with beyondblue and King Edward Memorial Hospital in the field of perinatal mental health.

Janette is in private practice at Green Road Psychology located next to Westfield Whitfords City in Hillarys. Janette enjoys helping people through the challenges of parenthood but also working with adults and adolescents experiencing a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, self esteem, body image, eating disorders, stress, post-traumatic stress, and those who simply want to work on self-development.

As a Clinical Psychologist, Senior Lecturer and Yoga Teacher, Janette employs evidence based-practice, combining the modern science of psychology and the ancient sciences of yoga, meditation and mindfulness to best meet the needs of the individual. Janette strives to create a welcoming, non-judgmental, therapeutic space in which clients feel relaxed, welcome and understood.

Therapeutic interventions she works with include:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Interpersonal Therapy

Individual Therapy Sessions are 60 minutes in length.

As a Medicare Clinical Psychology Provider, Medicare rebates apply with a GP referral - Mental Health Care Plan.
